Nicola was born in 1970 in Worcestershire,
England. She has a Brazilian father and a German mother. Her nationality
is of course British, and Nicola's IQ is a pretty good 127.
Nicola, studied drama, dance and singing at the Gemini Drama School
for 12 years as well as dancing with the dance troop 'Scaramoosh'
for two years.
After being spotted by a Coca-Cola executive, Nicola was offered
UK television campaigns for Coca Cola and Sprite soft drinks, both
which ran for two years.
Nicola has modelled for Joanna Lingerie, Ford cars, Oil of Ulay,
Sunkist soft drinks, Schwartzkopf hair products and Elizabeth Shaw
Chocolates. Nicola has also done photo shoots for popular men's magazines
including FHM (For Him Magazine) and Loaded.
The impressive list doesn't end there! Nicola has also starred in
a McDonalds advertisement, featured in pop videos for Soul II Soul,
David Essex and Five Star and was also the international face of Pantene
for two years.
At the age of 23, Nicola went on holiday to Australia and stayed
to do amateur theatre. She was spotted by the producer of Neighbours,
who instantly offered her a contract playing Ramsey Street's Sarah
Beaumont. Nicola took up the role of Sarah in 1996 and played her
last episode in the popular soap on Friday, April 23, 1999.
Sarah had a lot of trouble in the soap and Nicola herself joked,
"I would have liked to see her just take a bottle of pills and
say goodbye". The storywriters though had different ideas and
gave Sarah a happy exit. Nicola's character in the soap finally found
love and said goodbye to Ramsey Street to move abroad after getting
married. At least the storyline has enabled her character to make
a return if she wishes.... We can only hope!
In 1998 Nicola also starred playing a role in the film "Muggers".
Nicola also has her own company which she formed in 1997, called
"Babes in Toyland". It assists soap stars find work and
endorsements in Australia and the UK.
Nicola now has a publishing deal with Warner Music and a recording
contract with Mushroom. Her debut album "Listening in Colour"
has been completed and is due for release later this year, with all
the tracks written and performed by Nicola. One of her debut singles
has been chosen to be the soundtrack for the new Scooby Doo film,
due for release 2001.
Nicola's love life has included Scott Michaelson, she is now currently
engaged to Titanic star Jason Barry.
Nicola has been living in Melbourne, Australia but has now moved
back to Britain to concentrate on her music and broadcasting career.
Her personal motto is "Early to bed, early to rise, work bloody
hard and advertise".
Nicola's favourite actors include Leonardo DiCaprio, Meg Ryan &
