Lara Flynn Boyle life

An only child of divorced parents, Lara Flynn Boyle grew up near Wrigley Field in Chicago. Interestingly, she was named after Julie Christie's character from the 1965 classic film Doctor Zhivago, and perhaps in a cosmic sort of way, this early exposure to the world of entertainment influenced Lara as to which path she would eventually walk.
As a young child she was extremely shy, and as with most shy people who have a hard time expressing themselves, Lara managed to overcome by finding a comfortable outlet through Irish folk dance, art classes, and local improv. She attended acting workshops and eventually won a scholarship to Chicago's prestigious Academy for the Arts. It was during her time there that the five-foot-six beauty won her first professional part in the miniseries "Amerika".

The day after graduating from high school, she moved with her mother, Sally [also her assistant], to L.A. in order to get closer to the main hub of the entertainment industry. Soon after arriving she got the part as the sensitive Donna Hayward in David Lynch's cult series Twin Peaks. From then on, work was pretty much steady for Lara; starring and guest- starring in numerous TV series and feature films.
